One of the objectives of Foment del Treball is favoring business competitiveness. And to be competitive, the investments in research, development, and innovation are indispensable, as is a true innovative culture. In this sense, it is fundamental that companies and entrepreneurs know about and can access the resources available to them and value the possibility to incorporate innovative processes in their professional dynamics.

Foment del Treball wishes to play a prominent role in the monitoring of all of those programs, plans, or strategies oriented towards innovation that are promoted in Europe and Spain, and in the identification of the priority areas of innovation. The creation of taxation policies which are favorable to investing in innovation and promoting entrepreneurship in this area are also some of our main objectives.

Lines of action

Monitoring the development and/or possible revision of the planning tools and proposals geared towards innovation. These include the Plan Nacional of R+D+i 2012, the Plan Avanza 2010-2015, the Estratègia Estatal per a la Innovació, and the Pacte Nacional per a la Innovació.
Identifying the priority areas of innovation. For example: ICT, energy, audiovisual/communication, eco-innovation.
Identifying challenges and drafting proposals, including needs in technological infrastructures.
Improving companies’ accessibility to existing aid for innovation processes and new investments in R&D and innovation.
Achieving taxation policies favorable to these investments.
Improving the transfer of technology to companies, joining Universities and Technological centers.
Promoting entrepreneurship in technological areas.
Supporting future platforms or clusters.
