The General Secretary is the highest executive in charge of the organization, and as such executes the agreements and guidelines of the governing bodies. Named by the Board of Directors, he manages the areas, technical departments and internal services of the organization.

The Executive Committee and the Board of Directors of Foment del Treball approved in early 2019 a new organizational structure. The main objective is to strengthen the activity of the Catalan employers as a representative of companies before administrations and regulators, according to the work program of the new Presidency and the new Governing Bodies to modernize, rejuvenate, feminize, renew and generate enthusiasm towards the future.
