The Fòrum per al Desenvolupament de les Empreses de les Regions Europees (FODERE) unites unions in the five most industrialized European regions: Catalonia, Baden-Württemberg, Piedmont, Rhône-Alpes, and Suisse Romande.
FODERE was created in 1987 as an initiative of the Union of Rhône-Alpes with the goal of joining business organizations from the five most dynamic and industrialized regions of Europe and the most geographically intertwined. Its main objective is to act before the European institutions and public administrations to promote actions that favor the development of companies.
In addition to the Foment del Treball Nacional, this organization currently comprises:
- Confindustria Piemonte
- Fédération des Entreprises Romandes Genève (FER-Genève)
- Landesverband der Baden-Württembergischen Industrie ev
- Landesvereinigung Baden-Württembergischer Arbeitgeberverbande ev
- Mouvement des Entreprises de France-MEDEF-Rhône-Alpes.
The presidency of FODERE is rotated every year to one of its member business organizations. The plenary sessions are held at the headquarters of the company holding the presidency. Foment del Treball held the FODERE presidency in 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, and 2011.
